The "Best" Athletes of all time
These are a list of the best ever in each sport.
It is fact and Opinion based, please keep that in mind while reading this article.
Baseball(MLB): 1B/2B/SS/3B/LF/RF
Jackie Robinson (Brooklyn Dodgers)
Being a huge baseball fan for most of my life, this is a very controversial selection but it is a good one. The reason for this choice is because Jackie played under circumstances that Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, or Ty Cobb ever had to play in. Jackie was an African-American in a world where everyone was overly racist toward African-Americans. But through it all Jackie was able to play in tip-top shape. He was the only player ever daring enough to steal 2nd, 3rd, and home all in the same inning. Over Jackie's legendary career here are his stats. .311 BAA, 137 HR, 734 RBI, .409 OBP, and a .474 SLG, over 1,382 games played. Jackie passed away on October 24, 1972 in Stamford, CT
Basketball(NBA/ABA) Center
Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain
Again, a very controversial pick. Wilt is the greatest of all time. He was better than the "Greatest of all time" Micheal Jordan. Wilt was the first and only player ever to put up 100 points, in a single game. The record hasn't been sniffed since earlier this year when Devin Booker put up 70 and when Kobe put up 80. Since those times it has not been sniffed! Wilt also broke the best regular season PPG record with a 50.4 PPG. The highest ever and that record will be Wilts forever. He also broke the singe game rebounds record. His legendary number was 55. The only player to even come close was DeAndre Jordan with 30. With those reasons Wilt is the best to ever play Basketball. Wilt passed away on October 12, 1999 in Bel-Air.
Football(NFL): QB
Joe "Joe Cool" Montana
This shouldn't be the most controversial pick. Montana was arguably the best of all time. Over 15 legendary seasons he put up 40,551 passing yards, 92.3 passer rating, 63.2% COMP, and 8 pro bowls! over 192 games. Montana played for the 49ers and during his last 2 seasons played on the KC Cheifs. Over his 49er career Montana went to 4 super bowls and was the first ever to be named Super Bowl MVP 3 times. He holds the super bowl record for most passes without an interception, 122 in 4 games. In 1989' and 1990 Montana was named NFL MVP and in 1990 SI Magazine named him sportsman of the year. As youve read Montana has shined under pressure. He lead his 49ers to 32 4th quarter comebacks. The most in NFL history. Montana is currently 60 years old.
